I hope everyone’s Monday is off to a good start. I’m popping into inboxes today with a bonus newsletter that contains (minimal) Edinburgh eating and drinking recommendations, thanks to a stomach bug that decimated my appetite for most of the time I was in Scotland. I’ve also included a few links to stories I’ve read and enjoyed lately. Maybe you’ll like them too.

Eating and drinking in Edinburgh

The Milkman: When I wasn’t up for eating much, I was in dire need for caffeine, which led to me to the Milkman, a super charming coffee shop and bakery that has two locations within about a block of each other on the edge of Edinburgh’s Old Town. I visited the location at the bottom of the hill, which gets bonus points for its view: Walk out, turn left, and you’ll feel like you’re stepping onto the set of a Harry Potter movie.

Oh: the caffeine. And the food. The chai latte I had at the Milkman was possibly the best I’ve ever consumed, and the chocolate-chip banana loaf was gooey and rich and definitely not what my moody stomach needed — but I downed the whole thing gleefully and would do it again.
